  2. INSTALLING THEdit
  3.  
  4. Installation is performed using the supplied SETUP.EXE program.
  5.  
  6. If you received THEdit on floppy disk, execute A:SETUP.EXE on the disk
  7. using File|Run from the Program Manager menu.

  9. If you downloaded THEdit from a BBS in a ZIP archive, unzip it to a
  10. temporary directory and execute SETUP.EXE using File|Run from the
  11. Program Manager menu.

  13. The file CTL3D.DLL will be copied to your Windows directory if you DO
  14. NOT already have one.  The files thedit.ini and winlaser.ini will be
  15. placed in your Windows directory.  WinGrep will add the file wgrep.ini
  16. to your Windows directory the first time it is started.  All other files
  17. will be put in the directory you specified in the setup program.  The
  18. group THEDIT.GRP will be created by the setup program with icons for
  19. THEDIT.EXE, WINLASER.EXE and WGREP.EXE.  Note that CLT3D.DLL is named
  20. C3D.DLX within the distribution package.  This is added protection to
  21. ensure your copy of CTL3D.DLL will be used if you already have one.

  23. The SETUP.EXE program works with the Program Manager (progman.exe) to
  24. do the install.  If you have a custom program manager, the installation
  25. of the program group and associated icons may fail.  If so, simply add
  26. the three programs THEDIT.EXE, WINLASER.EXE and WGREP.EXE as specified
  27. by your program manager.
